About Me

I’m a fully qualified and registered mental health nurse and a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist, with nearly a decade of experience working in the NHS. I currently work in a specialist CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) team, providing psychological therapy to young people struggling with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties.

I completed my postgraduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at King’s College London, and I’m also a qualified Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) therapist. My clinical work focuses on supporting adolescents with challenges such as:

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Generalised anxiety and panic
  • Social anxiety
  • Low mood and depression
  • Self-esteem difficulties
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Trauma and PTSD

I have extensive experience helping young people develop the tools to manage difficult emotions, build confidence, and feel more in control of their lives. Therapy with me is structured but collaborative — I work closely with each young person to understand what’s going on for them and support them to make practical, meaningful changes.

I offer both online and in-person sessions, and I’m always happy to speak with parents or carers to help them feel confident about the therapy process.

I also offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can talk through any questions and decide if working together is the right fit.

questions

These are the questions people often ask before working with me

Do you work with parents as well as the young person?

Yes. While sessions are primarily focused on the young person, I often involve parents or carers when it’s helpful. This might include brief check-ins, collaborative planning, or sharing strategies to support your child between sessions.

 Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I offer online sessions via secure video call. This can be helpful for families looking for greater flexibility or who prefer remote access.

What qualifications do you have?

I am fully accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2018 with a degree in Mental Health Nursing and went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Children and Young People’s High Intensity CBT at King’s College London in 2021, as part of the national CYP IAPT programme.

Since 2019, I have worked within the NHS, specialising in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). I began offering individual therapy in 2021 and have since gained extensive experience supporting young people with a wide range of mental health difficulties.

Alongside my CBT training, I have also undertaken specialist training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) with British Isles DBT Training, equipping me to provide evidence-based support for young people experiencing complex emotional and behavioural challenges.

I am a child, can I self refer?

Yes

How long does therapy usually last?

Therapy varies from person to person. Some clients benefit from short-term work (6-12 sessions), while others may engage in longer-term support. We’ll regularly review progress together to ensure sessions remain useful and goal-oriented.

Is this service confidential and safe?

Anything we discuss during your sessions is kept secure and safe so as to protect your identity and your privacy. I will not discuss this with other people without your express consent.

However, it is vital to let you know that there may be instances where I may need to share information with others. An example of this would be if there were a person at risk, including yourself.

If this were the case, then I would endeavour to discuss this with you beforehand.

What can my child expect in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and begin understanding what’s been going on. I’ll ask some questions about your child’s experiences, thoughts, and behaviours, and we’ll start identifying goals for therapy. It’s a relaxed, collaborative process, there’s no pressure to share everything at once.
